A court has heard how a large spider dropped down from a motorists sun visor causing an accident in which another driver was seriously injured.
Lucille Ellis, who has a phobia of spiders, had been trying to move the spider when she drove her vehicle onto the wrong side of the road and into the path of an oncoming car.
Ellis, admitted careless driving at Bodmin Magistrates’ Court.
Chris Andrews, defending, told police about her phobia and added ‘it was not a deliberate piece of bad driving.’
Magistrates’ fined her £325 with £100 costs and gave her six penalty points on her license.
