A tree surgeon caught drink driving for the third time in over a decade has been banned from driving for more than three years.
John Davies, admitted to drink driving at Carmarthen Magistrates’ Court.
Magistrates’ heard how an anonymous member of the public contacted police about a driver who was in Llansteffan, drunk and smelling of intoxicants. Police later stopped the vehicle and Davies told police he had drank two glasses of wine two hours beforehand.
A breath test reading of 59 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath was recorded – the legal limit being 35.
This was Davies third drink driving offence and had previously been banned in 1999 and 2005.
Davies was banned from driving for 40 months with and fined a total cost of £265.
