A former soldier was caught drink driving when moving his car on Royal Wootton Bassett.
Joshua Davies, had been drinking with friends and had intended to leave his vehicle in a parking space overnight but was reminded it was the Ride of Respect the next morning.
The court heard how, fearing his car would be towed, Davies tried to find someone to move it but decided to move it himself, knowing he was over the drink drive limit.
As he drove the car through the high street, a police officer seen him hit a parked vehicle.
Davies was taken to Gablecross Police Station where his alcohol level was measured at nearly three times the legal limit.
Magistrates disqualified Davies from driving for two years and £500 in penalty fines.
