Norwich City footballer Kyle Naughton has had his 15-month driving ban reduced to nine months on appeal.
Naughton was given the 15-month ban by Norwich magistrate’s Court, after initially admitting speeding by driving 53mph in a 30mph limit last August and by driving 96mph in a 70mph in November. He was also fined £1,500 and given 11 penalty points.
Naughton faced disqualification because he had already amassed nine points on his license for three previous speeding offences in the past three years.
However, he was back before Norwich Crown Court after he had appealed for the length of disqualification to be cut to just nine months after the impact of his driving ban had been too much. He argued that he had deserved credit for pleading guilty and said that he had not been represented when he appeared before magistrates’ and was nervous about speaking before a court.
