Speeding Nottingham Forest Footballer banned from driving
Nottingham Forest captain Henri Lansbury has been banned from driving for six months after he was caught speeding at 115mph.
Lansbury, was caught after speeding past an unmarked police vehicle on the A1M, Peterborough earlier this year.
The officer then caught up with Lansbury’s Bentley Continental GT, which averaged 115mph over 0.6miles.
Peterborough Magistrates’ Court heard how the footballer had six points on his licence as he had been caught speeding three times in the past year.
He was banned from driving for six months under the totting up procedure after his licence was endorsed with six penalty points. He was also ordered to pay a £1,500 fine, a £120 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.
The court heard how Lansbury had bought the Bentley in September last year as a celebration gift but was not used to driving such a powerful vehicle. He is currently in the process of selling his vehicle and will drive a less powerful vehicle after he has served his driving ban.
